NTEK unveils Nuvola NP-1 4K ultra HD media player for manufacturing

SAN JOSE, USA: NanoTech Entertainment rcently announced that it has reached an agreement with leading contract manufacturing facility for long term production of its Nuvola NP-1 and NP-C consumer and commercial streaming media players.

Earlier this year, the company announced it had partnered with nVidia to use the Tegra 4 processor to power the players.

In making the announcement, Jeff Foley, NanoTech Entertainment CEO, said, "We are elated to have the world-leader in consumer electronics manufacturing, having built products such as the iPhone and PlayStation, building the Nuvola products for us. nVidia has strict requirements for ODM manufacturing, ensuring that the Nuvola products will be manufactured to the most exacting standards expected by today's consumers."

Foley predicts, "Production and fulfillment will begin immediately, providing us with the ability to clear our tremendous backlog of pre-orders and have product available for the public debut at the CES 2014 January 7-10 in Las Vegas (South Hall, Booth #21912). We are extremely excited to begin production of the Nuvola product, which will deliver the ‘Future of Television' to consumers around the world."

The Nuvola NP-1 is a multifunction device that can be used to decode a variety of video formats and resolutions including 4K Ultra HD, HD, SD and 3-D movies as well as playing state-of-the art 3-D Video games.

Based on the Android operating system, the Nuvola can also operate hundreds of thousands of existing apps bringing the experience to your television.

It can also stream content from a variety of sources, including the bundled UltraFlix UHD channel which serves 4K content for streaming and other services such as Netflix, Hulu Plus, XBMC, Amazon Instant Video and YouTube, which come pre-installed.

The Nuvola NP-1 can be connected via Ethernet or Wi-Fi to any network. Users with 6Mbit/s or greater Internet connections can view videos in full 4K Ultra High Definition. Commercial users can use the Nuvola NP-1 to drive digital signage tv in 4K Ultra HD at a fraction of the price of current HD players.

The Nuvola NP-1 will be available for new customers in Q1 2014 for $299.
