Emoji website Emojipedia reports that the software giant is including support for a middle finger emoji on the Windows 10 operating system for mobile and desktop computers to be released end of 2015.

Emojipedia notes that flipping the bird in emoji form has been around since the middle of last year, rolled out as part of the Unicode 7 update. But Reversed Hand With Middle Finger Extended Emoji wasn't supported in Windows 8 or 8.1. The emoji, which also goes by the names Middle Finger, Rude Finger, and Flipping The Bird, will be available in Windows 10.

And the emoji comes in different skin tones—pale, cream white, moderate brown, dark brown, and black.

Flipping the Bird emoji makes Microsoft the first technology company to add the middle finger emoji to its software platform. Giants such as Apple and Google have still not dared to tread the path.

This means that if someone sends you a message with an emoji from an iPhone, you may not be able to view it on a Windows device if that particularly symbol is not supported. It must be noted that although Apple and Google added a number of new emoji, the middle finger did not feature.
