Features: Nokia has introduced the Nokia 6708, its first stylus input
device for business in India. The smartphone features touch-screen pen input
with English language handwriting recognition and offers advanced voice
features, big screen and large memory to support office and multimedia
applications including personal information management and Internet browsing.
Outlining the features of the phone, Nokia Enterprise Solutions country general
manager Chakrapani GK said, “The pen-based touch-screen user interface allows
users to write in simplified English text and conveniently access the phone's
features. The pen input uses a full display screen to write in continuous
strokes and has a virtual keyboard to touch type messages and data. It supports
POP3/IMAP4/SMTP email protocols with attachments.”
He added, “The smartphone market is one of the fastest growing segments. Nokia
is well poised to take a leadership position in this segment as we have a
diverse product portfolio that combines cutting edge functionalities of a
smartphone with features that enhance work-life balance. As compared to the last
year, we expect the smartphone market for Nokia to grow by 70 per cent this
year.”
Nokia 6708 also has entertainment features such as music and video player,
games, 1.3-mega pixel camera with anti-shaking and multi-shot features. It also
features SMS remote lock to auto lock phone when lost, Quick Office
Applications, built-in memory of 18 MB SD RAM and 30MB flash, hot Swap memory
(SD and mini SD) card support of up to 2GB, messaging (SMS, MMS, email with
attachments), XHTML/HTML browser, etc.
