NIIT intros NetworkLABS

NEW DELHI: NIIT today announced the launch of its NetworkLABS, a specialised training programme that caters to learners who aspire to build careers in networking and infrastructure management technologies.

Announcing the new programme, G Raghavan, president Individual Learning Business, NIIT, said, "The industry is facing an acute shortage of skilled professionals in the networking and infrastructure management space."

According to an IDC survey, there will be a need for 3,75,000 skilled professionals, just in this space, creating a shortfall of nearly one lakh skilled professionals, by 2009.

"NIIT's industry endorsed NetworkLABS has been designed, keeping in mind the current as well as emerging networking trends. This will provide students real time unique experience of infrastructure management, business desktopd, WAN, OS deployment, etc., thus making them ‘industry ready and future proof'," he added.

The curriculum designed in partnership with global technology leaders such as 3Com, CompTIA, Intel and Microsoft, is mapped to popular job profiles as per industry requirements. NIIT also has placement partnerships with major IT organisations ready to absorb in relevant career openings, an NIIT statement said.

The programme provides the learners the option of pursuing globally mapped certification programmes such as A+, Network+, MCDST, MCSE, CCNA. The programme also leads to specialisations in diverse fields of networking and information security.

Students have the option to specialise in select infrastructure management areas, as part of the programme and get trained in VLAB infrastructure in advanced modules of the programme.
