BANGALORE, INDIA: Day two of the fifth edition of C-Change 2008 not only discussed best practices and change management in an Agile Enterprise, it also offered insights to technology options that leads an enterprise to stay agile. Speaking at the C-View session on How Agile Are We?, Manoj Paul, vice president and business head, BFSI vertical, Airtel Enterprise Services, stressed on how technology block drives an organization. "Development dynamics forces an enterprise to become agile,' he said. In his presentation, Paul said, agile technologies are those which can address: - Merging of new systems with the incumbent system - Scalable - Bring costs down with incremental revenue and product portfolio - Customize products - Personalize products - Ensure quick 'Go to Market'. He further said that agile enterprises should have the readiness to merge growth. On technology options for connectivity, Paul highlighted that Metro Ethernet was one such solution that enables the user upgrade his solutions. "Metro Ethernet can be one way of providing connectivity between different buildings in the same city where the bandwidth can go up to 1 GB." When it comes to connecting offices in different cities, he stressed upon the MPLS Cloud, which offers enough bandwidth for seamless connectivity. "This technology makes your network very stable as the MPLS bandwidth can be upgraded,' Paul explained. Highlighting that there were multiple technologies available for an enterprise to stay connected, he stressed upon the last mile option, audio and video conferences - for faster decisions and employee communication. This helps the enterprise stay agile and also helps the management and decision makers get connected within minutes, he said. Putting the perspective of agility in a nutshell, Paul said, "Agile Enterprises should take advantage of changing business paradigm. And, Agile Enterprises are always close to the customer.'
