BANGALORE, INDIA: Enterprises need to understand local markets, business dynamics, and accordingly design business processes to survive in the globalized world. These were the remarks made at a panel discussion on theĀ 'Imperatives for Globalization,' at the ongoing CIOL C- Change 2008 here today. The panelists put the onus on enterprise heads to tailor solutions that gel with the global market needs. "If a particular ERP solution works for a US enterprise, it doesn't necessarily mean it will work for an Indian enterprise, said Shyam Sundar, chief information office, Britannia Industries. He added that enterprises needed to gain in-depth research of business processes of markets before diversifying. Taking the discussion forward, Sanjay Jhamb, IT manager, Nokia, said, enterprises apart from tailoring solutions for local market have to strictly follow the global standards to be successful. "To maintain efficiency at global level, enterprises need to have strong focus on developing global level architecture" And to maintain these standards, he puts the onus on the IT heads to drive the process. "IT heads should help design a frame work that aligns the business process to be more productive," he said. Kailashnathan, CIO, Titan, said Indian enterprises need to set a high benchmark for their services to be successful in globalised world.
