FREMONT, USA: Elma Bustronic has created two interactive charts that take the guess work out of identifying the OpenVPX backplane profile for new VPX designs. Available in versions showcasing either Elma's 3U or 6U backplanes, the new VPX resources provide a snapshot of the profiles in an easy-to-read document.

Each backplane profile identified in the VITA 65 specification is listed by profile name on the chart, with key features listed, and supported by a pop-up view of its specific topology as well as some representative slot profiles associated with the backplane.

Says Boris Micha, sales manager for Elma Bustronic:"Elma is very familiar with the profiles identified in the OpenVPX standard since we participate in the standards committee and have actually contributed several of the profiles,  so we came up with a handy chart that provides a useful visual reference when designing a backplane for a VPX system."

Elma simplifies OpenVPX system development even further by working with the customer to identify the right backplane for your system, placing it in a chassis, and even recommend boards with its helpful Target Application Development Guides (TAGs). The OpenVPX Backplane Profile Charts can be used in tandem with the TAGs to create a complete development or deployable platform.
