New magazine launched for franchise biz

NEW DELHI: Publishing House exchange4media today launched their latest initiative 'Franchise Plus', a business opportunity magazine.



Franchise Plus, a bi-monthly magazine is primarily targeted at people who are looking for new business opportunities in the franchising, retailing, distribution, and the real estate domain. The company plans to achieve a revenue-target of quarter of a million dollars (1.25 crores) in the first year of operations from Franchise Plus.



exchange4media announced their foray into Middle East and Far East markets in the financial year of 2004-2005 proposed with an investment of between quarter to half a million dollars. With its future initiatives and existing ventures, the Publishing House exchange4media, targets to double revenues in the financial year 2004-2005.



Commenting on the launch of Franchise Plus, Mr. Anurag Batra, Managing Director, exchange4media, said, "Encouraged by the success of exchange4media.com and PITCH which, are the most referred resources for information on the media, advertising, marketing and broadcasting industry, we are now ready to take on the challenge of catering to another niche market, that of franchise business. Franchise Plus aims to provide an opportunity for entrepreneurs looking at new or additional ventures and initiatives."



exchange4media has invested almost 1 crore in Franchise Plus, which is a resource joint venture between exchange4media and First Franchise Pvt. Ltd., a franchise consulting firm in India.



Mr. Anurag Batra, Managing Director, exchange4media, stated on the Groups expansion plans, "excahnge4media is a growing publication house. It is our constant endeavour to look at new domains and new titles. We intend to take exchange4media.com, our online newsletter, to other countries as well".



Mr. Amit Agnihotri, Editorial Director, exchange4media shares, "exchange4media offerings will be editorial products that help the reader make decisions that impact him/ her and we have an editorial team, which researches such niches and delivers the editorial product. The Franchise industry is at an early stage of take off and a serious magazine like Franchise Plus will help shape the industry."



Franchise Plus is priced at Rs.30, and is a hundred page (cover to cover) national magazine."



As a part of its future endeavors, the company plans to do an annual ranking called Franchise Plus 100 of all the franchise companies in India, based on which awards will be given to the ‘Most Admired Franchise Company’ in the country and also to the ‘Best Franchise Company’ in the country.
