The new release of the company’s flagship solution, which is already being used in over a third of the UK’s schools, provides full compliance with the new architecture of Windows Vista and allows the control of any Web browser.

The new version of NetOp School will further improve the control of students’ use of the Internet by allowing more schools to use the product with different browsers. Previously, only Microsoft Internet Explorer could be monitored and blocked, whereas version 5.5 allows all browsers to be supported including Firefox, Opera and Netscape.

No changes have been made to the existing interface, only the underlying technology, meaning that there is no disruption to teachers already using the tool to manage their classrooms. Extended communication enhancements allow NetOp School to dynamically adjust to its networking environment strengthening it’s record for superior performance and stability.

Instructing today’s computer literate students using conventional teaching tools is a challenge. Boards and projectors are simply not suited to subjects where hands-on experience is the best option. The computerised classroom is becoming a more and more natural environment for the daily teaching situation.

NetOp School brings a complete, computerised teaching solution to the networked classroom -- from preparing for class and teaching students, through to grading pupil’s work. Teachers can share any screen with the class, follow students as they work and lend a hand where and when it’s needed, control what applications can be used, distribute and collect documents from students, then perform regular tests with immediate individual feedback.

The new version of NetOp school was pre-launched at the BETT show (January 9-12) at London’s Olympia.
