The company is building its largest ever data center, in Mumbai. The 28 MW, 300,000 sq ft data center, under construction at Chandivali, will accommodate 2,700 racks and will be operational from July 2015.

“The trends are changing. As against captive data centers, many enterprises are looking at co-location, hosted or cloud services as a viable option not only to save costs, but also to focus on core businesses,” said Sunil Gupta, President & COO, Netmagic.

He informed that some of the largest e-commerce portals are hosted on the Netmagic cloud; one of the largest private sector insurance companies has hosted its DR site on the cloud. “The BFSI segment has now moved a step forward. Besides the DR, some BFSI companies are also porting their core applications on the cloud. This is a very big opportunity for us,” Gupta said.

Even the government is a very big opportunity. For instance, we are hosting some of the portals for the Maharashtra government, and are looking a expanding our services to other departments in Maharashtra as well as the other states.”

According to Gupta, more and more large enterprises will avail the services of Netmagic, as CXOs are actively involved in the decision making process, and the focus on availability, response time and uptime has significantly increased. “More than 13 very large customers have migrated to Netmagic in the last 8 months alone.”

Overall, the company has 1,500 customers of which less than five percent avail the company’s co-location services, 50 percent to 55 percent are hosting customers and the rest are using cloud services.
