According to IDC's Quarterly Indian Disk Storage Market report for Q1 2005, NetApp has total networked storage revenue of 22.9 percent. It has 72 percent revenue share in its core NAS market and 8.4 percent revenue share in the SAN market, making it the leader in the NAS & SAN market space in India.

"The IDC report clearly proves that customers continue to turn to NetApp for their storage consolidation, data protection and business continuance needs. I am happy that our continued endeavor to provide total customer experience and our increased commitment to Indian enterprises has helped us further strengthen our foothold in the external storage market in India," said country manager for NetApp India George Thomas.

IDC India hardware research head Sanjit Sinha said, "NetApp has demonstrated clear market momentum in India and offers what customers expect--simplicity, innovation, and a compelling vision for the future of storage networks with Storage Grid architectures. NetApp has really distinguished itself by simplifying data management and Indian businesses have embraced that value proposition."
