NEC new servers based on Intel Xeon 5500

BANGALORE, INDIA:Technology platform and solutions provider NEC India has introduced new servers based on the new Intel Xeon processor 5500 Series.

The new servers include NEC Express5800 Rack, Tower and Blade servers integrating technologies as Intel Quick-Path Interconnect (QPI) technology with significant throughput performance improvement, DDR3-1066 Memory with increased performance through efficient memory access and memory capacity; PCI Express 2.0 delivering twice the bandwidth, Support for 80PLUS certified energy efficient power supply, and host of RAS features.

Apart from NEC's efforts aimed at higher performance, energy efficiency and higher bandwidth, its new Express5800/Sigmablade and NEC Express5800 Tower and Rack servers have the capability to benefit from the performance boost and energy-efficiency of the new Intel Xeon processor.

According to Abhilesh Guleria, country manager and head, IT Platform and Solutions, NEC India, the new server product line would yield efficiency, performance, and scalability required for successful data center virtualization and consolidation while providing great quality and greater IT value for NEC's customers.

Adding, Kirk Skaugen, vice president and general manager of Intel's Server Platforms Group, said “NEC's new servers take advantage of the intelligent performance, energy efficiency and virtualization capabilities of the Intel Xeon processor 5500 series, to meet customers' ever-increasing virtualization and consolidation needs.”
