TOKYO, JAPAN: NEC Corp., in partnership with NEC Malaysia, is providing headquarter systems and convenience store systems for Halalink Worldwide (M) Sdn Bhd (Halalink), the largest health, beauty, cosmetics and perfumery retailer in Malaysia. Halalink plans to expand into 300 locations throughout Malaysia within the next three years.

NEC is providing the Halalink headquarters and stores with DCMStar/ChainStore systems that include the TWINPOS G5, a compact POS terminal suitable for use in retail stores.  Future system deployment, in line with Halalink's planned expansion, will be handled jointly by NEC's Regional Retail Business Support Center and NEC Malaysia.

These systems standardize the selection of products and inventory control operations that were formerly carried out separately for each store. This integration enables greater efficiency and uniform store management operations. Moreover, these systems also support the e-money point cards used at Halalink stores.

"We view this order from Halalink as confirmation of their high regard for NEC's DCMStar/ChainStore solution, which integrates NEC's know-how from many years of experience in providing systems for multi-store chain retailers," said Chikara Ishii, senior VP, NEC.

While aiming to expand its retail solutions business globally, NEC has commercialized DCMStar/ChainStore, set up the RBSC, and is continually conducting training courses on retail solutions for its international subsidiaries.

Going forward, in addition to contributing to the business expansion and optimization of management operations for Halalink, NEC aims to leverage these achievements to further expand its global retail solutions business.
