BANGALORE: In a move to boost product innovation among IT companies in India, Nasscom has evolved an initiative for showcasing the emerging companies in the IT industry.

Nasscom aims to spotlight the most vibrant and promising organizations from the ICT sector - companies that have caught the eye with their interesting value propositions for customers, their 'out-of-the-box' IT solutions and revolutionary strategies for surviving and thriving in a market fraught with challenges.

Six innovative companies, two in each zone — North (includes East), South and West, have been finalized as the winners, out of the initial 96 companies from all over India who sent in their entries. 18 innovative companies were short-listed for the preliminary round.

The six short-listed companies include Liqwid Krystal, Beehive Solutions, Compulink Systems, PACE Soft Silicon, Srishti Software and Whizlabs Software.

Nasscom plans to identify these companies, assess their business models, their focus areas and specializations and provide them with a platform where they can talk about their achievements within the ICT domain.

The final selection was made by taking in a lot of factors like original IP creation, install base of products, revenue from IP and potential of the IP.

The six winners were selected by a panel of judges spearheaded by Ganesh Natarajan, Dy Chairman and MD of Zensar Technologies. The others include Dr. Deepak Phatak, Head, Kanwal Rekhi School of Information Technology, Anil Bakht, Chairman and Managing Director Eastern Software Systems, K. Ganapathy Subramanian, founding Partner of JumpStartUp-I.
