As a part of the change, Gurjar would interchange her portfolio with the serving E&R head, Srikantan Moorthy, also known as Tan. Both these appointments would be effective April 1, 2013.

Almost a decade after joining the company in 1999, Gurjar has been in the eye of storm, especially since she took over as the HR head in 2007. If it was the contentious iRace policy at the beginning of her tenure, it was later compounded by the sluggish global outlook influencing the company's decision to delay the rolling out of pay hike last year.

She has also been the face of Infosys in the United States, a major client base of the information technology major, where the company faced visa issues till recently.

Moorthy has been with Infosys since 2000, when he joined as a delivery manager in the U.S.

In a statement on its official site, Infosys also said that it was "pleased to announce the appointment of a new CEO & MD for Infosys BPO. Swaminathan D., CEO of Infosys BPO will be retiring from his post on April 30, 2013 after a nine year association with the company. Consequently the Infosys BPO Board announced the appointment of Gautam Thakkar as CEO and MD of Infosys BPO." (sic)

Thakkar also has been working for Infosys since 2000 and is currently the chief of the enterprise services business of the business process outsourcing (BPO) wing of Infosys.

Although was widely speculated, the role change of Gurjar has raised several eyebrows, in the wake of the company's recent turnaround of fortunes.
