There's something you made a quick video of, but the background voice wasn't good? We have all been through it. WhatsApp's new mute video (media) feature has now come to your aid. The company, while talking about the launch of the feature, for Android, said that you can now mute the audio on your videos before adding them to your Status or sending in chat.

Only last month, WABetaInfo reported that WhatsApp started rolling out this new feature for its beta testers on Android. For those unaware of what exactly this feature does, it basically allows you to turn down the audio on videos before forwarding it to another person. Before this feature, users had to use a third-party app, mostly their phone albums to mute the audio, save and re-send it. Not anymore!

How to Mute Video Media before sending?

First, users need to update their android WhatsApp app. Only after the update, they can use it. Then, you can choose to record a video or send an existing video. Just on the edit page, when you select the video, there will be a small speaker option. If you click on it, the video will mute. The Mute Video feature is available both for individual chat and Status mode. The new WhatsApp Mute Video feature is currently available only for Android users; however, the company has not given any update on the iOS release yet.

Is the feature available for all?

Well, there are conflicting narratives that people aren't able to use the feature on Dual WhatsApp. Plus, the feature may be a gradual rollout. So, if you haven't received the update, try going to the Google Play Store and updating your app manually.
