MTS rings in leadership changes in Karnataka, UP

BANGALORE, INDIA: Sistema Shyam TeleServices Limited (SSTL) that provides telecom services under the "MTS" brand with 10 million wireless customers has announced key leadership appointments in Karnataka and UP West circles.

While Umesh Durve has been appointed as the Chief Operating Officer of Karnataka Circle, Siraj Abbasi will take charge of the Company's business in UP West circle. The two new appointments will further strengthen the circle leadership team at MTS India, as per the announcement. Both Siraj Abbasi and Umesh Durve will report directly to Dmitry Shukov, CEO, MTS India.

Both, Umesh and Siraj have over two decades of industry experience and have been associated with leading telecom companies in the past. Prior to joining MTS India, Umesh was associated with Bharti Airtel Ltd as Vice President of Market Operations. Siraj's last assignment was with Reliance Communications, Lucknow as Circle Business Head, UP - East where he was driving the data revenues for his region and was responsible for setting up exclusive distributor network for EVDO devices.
