MTS to launch dual SIM phones priced at Rs.6,000

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Telecom service provider Sistema Shyam Teleservices (SSTL), which offers its mobile services under the brand name MTS, on Tuesday said it will launch handsets supporting CDMA as well as GSM connections next month.

"We will launch multimode phones from October. It will be CDMA with GSM smartpone in the price range of Rs.6,000 to Rs.12,000," Lenny Musatov, chief marketing and sales officer, said here. 

The firm has 1.7 million data subscribers at the end of June 2012. Out of the overall revenues, MTS gets about 26 per cent of its revenues from data services.
