MS recognizes Corel as Global ISV consumer partner

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Corel Corporation, a provider in IT services, today announced that it has been selected as a 2009 Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference Awards winner as Global ISV Consumer Partner of the Year.

The company was chosen out of an international field of top Microsoft partners for delivering market-leading customer solutions built on Microsoft technology, said a press release.

“Corel employees share a passion for finding new ways to expand our customers’ creative possibilities, so we welcomed the opportunity to work closely with Microsoft throughout the development cycle for Windows 7,” said Jimi Duff, senior director, Strategic Alliances and Partnerships for Corel.

He added that its an honor to receive this award as their team is working on products that will showcase the benefits of Windows 7 and Windows Touch and provide consumers with more natural, interactive and enjoyable user experiences. The Microsoft Global ISV Consumer Partner of the Year Special Recognition Award is given to the global ISV partner that has demonstrated consumer applications leadership excellence. This recognition award acknowledges the global partner that has demonstrated leadership in driving Microsoft technology in a creative and ambitious way, said the release.

“Microsoft is proud to recognize Corel as the Global ISV Consumer Partner of the Year. Corel has delivered a broad and innovative portfolio of consumer software based on Microsoft technologies,” said Corinne Sharp, national director, Partner Channel, Microsoft Canada.

He added that Corel is developing its next generation of creative consumer products for the Windows 7 platform to build on features such as Windows Touch, Jump Lists and Libraries. It has provided consumers with a more engaging and expressive computing environment that has allowed them to develop a client base with millions of global customers.
