MP to get 1.5 lakh BSNL mobile connections

BHOPAL: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) celebrated its fourth anniversary on October 1. Speaking on the occasion BSNL - MP Telecom circle CGM Girish Chandra Mishra informed that in the current year, BSNL has plans to provide 1.50 lakh mobile phone connections in the state. Apart from that, 87 new towns would be connected to the network of pre-paid and post-paid mobile services, which will eventually connect 149 towns in totality.





Quoting from data, Mishra said that while BSNL has more than 75 lakh subscribers in mobile phone segment and 3.50 crore in the landline segment in the country, the MP circle has more than 1.25 lakh mobile phone subscribers and nearly 13 lakh landline subscribers, making it the nation's largest telecom company.





Recently, BSNL has started CLI-based Internet services in Jabalpur and Gwalior, by which one need not take additional Sancharnet cards. Mishra said that the state-owned telecom giant has provided exemption up to 50 percent in its STD calls. He also gave detailed information on the discounts offered in different categories and the different kinds of services.
