Motech appoints Chang Peng-heng CEO

TAIPEI: Motech Industries, manufacturer of solar-energy cells, has announced the appointment of Chang Peng-heng, as its CEO with effect from March 31, 2010.

At present, Chang Peng-heng is vice-president (materials management and risk management) of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC).

According to industry sources, the appointment of Chang Peng-heng as CEO marks Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company’s first step in participating in the operations of Motech Industries. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company holds a 20 p.c stake in Motech Industries.

Simon Tsuo, the current chairman and CEO of Motech Industries, will stay as chairman, Motech Industries said in a statement.

On March 8, 2010, the board of directors of Motech Industries approved the company’s financial report for 2009.
