MobiKwik partners Samsung Pay to enable one-tap payment solutions

MobiKwik has partnered Samsung Pay to make its payment solutions available on Samsung Pay app. The mobile wallet company has integrated its wallet into Samsung Pay Mini, a mobile payment platform focussed on Samsung’s budget and mid-range phones. MobiKwik's mobile wallet will also be soon available to Samsung Pay users, the digital payments firm said in a statement.

“The future of digital payments in India will thrive only by collaborating with various ecosystem partners to drive acceptance. More than 55 million users and 1.4 million merchants will benefit from this association,” said Daman Soni, MobiKwik Head of Growth.

Over the next 30 days, nearly 3-5 million new mass market phones with Samsung Pay Mini capability are expected to be rolled out, according to Soni. “This is going to widen my (MobiKwik) user base. I am more excited about Samsung Pay Mini than Samsung Pay. MobiKwik will very soon be on Samsung Pay also,” he said.

Samsung Pay Mini is now available on Samsung eligible devices including J7 Max, J7 (2016), J7 Prime, On Max and On Nxt. Samsung Pay, which comes with fingerprint authentication, encryption and KNOX was launched in India in March this year. It is not only equipped with standard NFC (Near Field Communication) technology but also supports MST (Magnetic Secure Transaction) for offline payments at card terminals.
