The Bangalore-based IT solutions and products engineering services company is switching off from energy and utilities and the machinery pie of the products engineering.

Bye bye to non-focus segment clients

According to the company, this would mean disengaging with the existing clients in the non-focus segment, and bidding off to just a couple of employees who were specialized in health care and could not be absorbed in other businesses of the company.

The company has around 126 clients at present and would look at increasing the business accrued per client and new customers additions. According to MindTree, this renewed focus on the strengths would bring in more operative savings to the company, than any loses.

Sharing the vision for the company, Krishnakumar Natrajan, CEO and MD of the company said, “We do not aim to be the leaders in the industry, but the leaders in the domain we operate into. This positioning will take us there in 3-5 years. We are aiming to join the billion-dollar club. And this direction would help us reach there easily.”

Talking about the road map, the newly roped in chairman, Albert Hieronimus said, “In the next board meeting we would discuss the direction for the company, from the broad-based to focused approach and we would identify the 2-3 growth areas.”

Interestingly, given Albert's wide experience with Bosch, MindTree would find renewed inclination towards automotive segment, as well. In the products engineering division, the company would look at consumer infrastructure, telecom networking products, enterprise products, business application and many more, while the IT services segment would focus at BFSI, manufacturing, Telecom etc.
