CHENNAI: Mindteck

announced the successful development of BeeStack for Freescale Semiconductor to

be used with HCS08 microcontroller and the MC1319X series of RF data modems.

This combination has gone through compliance testing with the ZigBee

specification and is one of the certified platforms for use in ZigBee

applications.

Acknowledging this landmark achievement, Shankar Velayudhan, Group Chief

Technology Officer, Mindteck said, “This ZigBee stack is specifically tailored

for Freescale's low power HCS08 microcontroller and the MC1319X series of RF

data modems. With aggressive power and resource management, this ZigBee

compliant platform is a perfect design choice for ZigBee-enabled products.”

Freescale had earlier announced the availability of BeeKit in the Freescale

Technology Forum held in Shanghai last month. BeeKit includes BeeStack and

developer configuration tool that supports Freescale's platforms based on the

HCS08 MCU.

“Mindteck's proven capabilities in embedded systems development and

expertise in ZigBee specification design services were instrumental in Freescale's

decision to work with Mindteck,” said Brett Black, commercial wireless

operations manager for Freescale. “The ZigBee stack now gives us the

flexibility to customize and optimize the platform to differentiate ourselves

from the competition.”
