LONDON, UK: MindLink Software, a provider of business-critical collaboration and persistent chat solutions, has announced that its platform is fully Mac and Linux-compatible.

The announcement of MindLink for Mac and Linux follows the introduction of the company's native iPhone app in 2012 and makes MindLink the only persistent chat tool on the market to support the Apple desktop and Linux operating systems.

MindLink provides a structured and secure way for employees to share information and knowledge in real-time using a 'free flow' conversational style. By focusing on business collaboration and team efficiency, it enables organisations to benefit from the shared expertise of their staff, regardless of their role, geographical location or the technology they are using.

"Leveraging our clients' existing Lync investments, our focus has traditionally been on the support of Microsoft users," says Annekathrin Häse, director of strategy and marketing at MindLink.

"Yet Mac and Linux are widely adopted within organisations. Some organisational roles - such as those of the design department or software development - commonly require Apple hardware and software and / or Linux systems," added Häse.

"To date users of these systems have not been able to benefit from persistent chat tools, but because business collaboration is only powerful when everyone can be involved and share knowledge, we have invested resources into ensuring that we support the Mac and Linux platforms, offering every team member the possibility to share and access knowledge," concludes Häse.
