MUMBAI, INDIA: The Nokia Priority stores brand is dying a proverbial death; only to be reincarnated and reborn as Microsoft Priority Reseller stores.
The software major has already initiated the move, and has rechristened a Chennai-based Nokia Priority store.
The rebranding was on expected lines, ever since Microsoft acquired the handset business of the Finnish firm for $7.2 billion in April 2014. Nokia India Sales is now a subsidiary of Microsoft Mobile Oy.
“In India itself it is a big change for us, which we are trying to offer as part of the Microsoft experience is concerned,” TS Sridhar, India Sales Director-South, Nokia, said.
As a part of the transformation journey, the company will gradually rechristian all the 441 Nokia Priority Stores and 8,872 mobile reseller stores, as Microsoft Priority Reseller Stores. It will also rebrand all the 118 Nokia Care service outlets as Microsoft Care.
