Microsoft appoints new MD for its India development center

HYDERABAD, INDIA: Microsoft today announced the appointment of Anil Bhansali as the new leader of its development center in India and managing director of Microsoft India (R&D) Pvt Ltd.

Anil, who is the general manager of Cloud and Enterprise engineering teams at the Microsoft India Development Center (MSIDC), will now expand his responsibilities to lead MSIDC. He will continue to be based out of Hyderabad. Amit Chatterjee, the current MSIDC leader, is relocating back to Redmond.

Making the announcement, S Somasegar, corporate vice-president, Developer Division, Microsoft Corporation, said: "Anil is a 22-year veteran with Microsoft. He spent the first 12 years of his career in Redmond before moving to MSIDC. His appointment is a testament to Microsoft's leadership talent here in India."

"I am confident that under his leadership, MSIDC will continue its role in Microsoft's distributed development strategy. At the same time, I want to thank Amit for his immense contributions to MSIDC over the years, and wish him all the very best for the future," added Somasegar.

Anil has a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Computer Science from Stony Brook University.
