Micromax launches Funbook at Rs 6,499

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Micromax Infomatics, a mobile device maker, has launched edutainment tablet Funbook for Rs 6,499.

Micromax said that the new tablet device will come bundled with Tata Photon Plus with additional 1GB download offer for the first two months.

The new device runs on Android 4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich). The company has also entered into partnership with BigFlix, Zenga and Indiagames for entertainment and gaming.

Funbook has 17.78 cm capacitive screen with 1.2GHz processor and 512MB RAM. It is available in two variants- suave silver and brilliant black.

Micromax Infomatics CEO Deepak Mehrotra said that the device enables the students to play and study together. “With Funbook, we aim to create balance between the two,” he added.

Rahul Sharma, co-founder of Micromax Informatics, said that their product will revolutionize education as it will help students realize their goals and aspirations.

The company has also tied up with Pearson and Everonn for content services. In addition to Snapdeal.com, the device will be available through 100,000 retail stores across 50 cities throughout the country.
