“We appreciate that the VA recognizes our exceptional service and certification as a SDVOSB in awarding this contract,” says Bill Jewett, CEO. “This fits right in with our strategic mission as we expand our federal presence and continue to grow at the local and state levels.”

MedSharps will treat about 500 reusable sharps containers each week under this VA contract alone, amounting to several thousand pounds of medical waste each month.

MedSharps also uses a barcode system to track every container leaving and entering a system along with an automated industrial wash system with random swab tests to ensure all containers are free from bacterial and viral infection elements. An automated tipper system ensures human hands don’t come into contact with potentially infectious material.
