The system will deliver interconnect billing for StarHub's mobile services, improving flexibility of the settlement process, enhanced performance and a reduction in operational costs.

StarHub operates its own GSM/GPRS network and has recently launched its 3G network.

MBT implemented complex interconnect scenarios. Azure incorporates rules-based rating capability and allows StarHub to analyze call data, bill more accurately and to verify interconnect traffic between itself and other network partners.

MBT also helped the Singapore company to process all its backlog data, ensuring a smooth migration from its legacy system.

Abhijit Lahiri, head of the BSS Practice at MBT, said: "The Interconnect system implementation at StarHub was one of the many 'firsts' for MBT in the BSS space in the last couple of years. The replacement of the interconnect installation using Azure's product was a first in the APAC market."
