BANGALORE: Maximus2, a wholly-owned subsidiary of a British company, has
launched an office productivity suite, GroupX2. As a promotional plan, the
company is planning to give away licenses of GroupX2 free for the first 2003
companies to register on its website. The
cost of the product is otherwise pegged at $1000. The application consists of
the full working software enabled for 20 users.
GroupX2 is a web-based, vrus-proof solution designed to ease the managing
tasks, people, messages, calendars, meetings, contacts and much more.
Maximus2 has conducted research on how organizations are using IT to
increase internal productivity. The findings have showed 79 percent of Indian
companies using plain old email to run their business. Organizations complained
about the cost of deploying solutions such as Microsoft Exchange and Lotus
Notes.
The GroupX2 solution supports Linux and can save an organization substantial
