Maveric allies with IIT-M Research Park

CHENNAI, INDIA: Maveric Systems, one of India’s leading dedicated software testing company with a strong presence across UK, USA, Middle East and Indian Market, announced their tie-up with IIT Madras Research Park. Through this collaboration, Maveric Systems is the only testing company to invest one million dollars (over a span of three years) in research to create proprietary intellectual property in test design to consolidate their leadership position in testing.

V.N. Mahesh, Executive Director, Maveric Systems said: “Maveric Systems has set itself an aggressive goal of generating 30 percent of revenues from IP-based services by 2012. This alliance will help us further accelerate our R & D to achieve this targeted goal. Tying up with one of India’s premier institute; IIT Madras, shows our commitment to provide an industry-leading software testing platform for the future.”

Innovation across the testing delivery lifecycle is required not only for growth but also to constantly adapt to the ever-changing landscape of the testing domain. This would involve constant and continuous rethinking across areas of:

* Effective service delivery models.

* Optimized planning, design and test execution processes for quicker cycle times.

* Frameworks / tools and technologies to facilitate greater re-usability.

This constant drive for innovation has led Maveric Systems to launch its proprietary test design workbench Testac, which promises to significantly improve test coverage and crash timelines by over 40 percent in business critical software and systems. TESTAC was recently awarded the coveted ‘Product Innovation award’ by Frost & Sullivan in the Software testing category.

Dr. Sandhya Shekhar, CEO, IIT Madras Research Park, said: “The IIT Madras Research Park is a pioneering initiative to co-locate about 100 companies with IIT Madras in order to give R&D and innovation a significant thrust through industry-academia collaboration. In the software testing space, we see immense potential in fostering and participating in various research initiatives outlined by Maveric, and value their presence as an important partner in building the innovation ecosystem at the Research Park.”

This partnership is likely to provide impetus to a slew of initiatives aimed at Quality and Productivity Improvement being planned by the Automation and Functional Centres of Excellence (CoEs) within Maveric. A dedicated 40-member team will be housed within a 5,000sqft facility at the Research Park. This team is expected to work closely with the finest minds from academia through a combination of research projects, consultancy, student sponsorship and joint IP development activities to create innovative IP that gets recognized globally.
