Zuckerberg's accounts on Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and Pinterest were compromised on Sunday for a brief period. A hacker group called Ourmine, which has more than 40,000 Twitter followers, claimed responsibility for it with a tweet and instigated the Facebook founder to contact them.

They wrote: "Hey @finkd we got access to your Twitter & Instagram & Pinterest, we are just testing your security, please dm us."

The posts uploaded by the hacker group through Zuckerberg's account have since been deleted. Zuckerberg has not sent any post on his Twitter account since 2012. On Instagram, where he has shared just 30 images till now, Zuckerberg has over 600,000 followers.

According to some reports, 117 million LinkedIn username and password combinations stolen four years ago were being sold on the dark web for 5 bitcoins, which is worth about $2,300 (£1,595). The passwords were encoded, but in a form that appears to have been relatively easy to unravel.
