THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, INDIA: IBS Software, the Thiruvananthapuram-based global supplier of IT solutions for the global travel, transportation and logistics industry, will deploy its crew management system, AvientCrew, for Malaysian Airlines (MAS).

This follows a deal signed between MAS and IBS in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday. As per the deal, Malaysia Airlines has entered into a long-term contract with IBS Software, aimed at providing MAS with increased efficiency and reduced cost of operation.

"The single integrated solution from IBS will replace the two different crew management systems that are currently being used by MAS to manage its technical crew and cabin crew rosters,” said a company official.

“While the current system at MAS uses a combination of manual and IT-based systems, the new system from IBS will automate the entire crew management and tracking process facilitating crew pairing, rostering, tracking and manpower planning.”

IBS’ AvientCrew will optimize crew utilization, improve crew productivity, reduce disruption costs and streamline administrative processes and will be fully implemented at MAS in four phases over the next two years.

This solution is already being used by six major airlines that include Emirates, Jet Airways and Cathay Pacific among others, he added.

“The operational agility and productivity of the airline’s crew will be further enhanced with the implementation of IBS Software's AvientCrew,” said V K Mathews, chairman and CEO of IBS Group.

IBS had earlier in the year tied up with MASholidays, the travel and leisure arm, owned and managed by Malaysia Airlines, for implementing its iFly Tour solution, that would provide MASholidays an online booking system that is fully integrated with real time inventory of flights, hotel rooms, transfers, car rentals and tours.
