HYDERABAD: Malamaal.com, a Hyderabad-based B2C portal, is planning to set up
its units abroad. In the next six months, the company is planning to open its
offices in the US and the UK. The units would act as marketing and liaison
offices, handling all the marketing activities related to the region.
Malamaal.com would be a gift as well as a shopping store for all non resident
Indians. On the Indian front, the company is on the verge of widening its
presence by establishing branch offices in all the metros, and by forming an
office franchisee network in 65 strategic locations across the country. At
present, the company has presence in 22 locations within the country.
A 1999 start-up, Malamaal.com showcases 150 products grouped into 72
categories. The site has around 50,000 registered users from the NRI community
in the US and the UK. Malamaal.com is entering into alliances and strategic
partnerships to improve sales and services, and bring in new customers. The
company has a strategic tie up with Blue Dart for logistics and ICICI Bank for
payment gateways.
The company is all set to go for a second round of funding within a couple of
months.
