"It is estimated that the electronics sector in India will create employment opportunities for over seven million direct and another 14 million indirect

The joint initiative will facilitate the creation of a vendor-neutral platform in India for assessing and benchmarking skills through standardised examinations accredited and accepted by the IT industry and vendors globally.

Global experts and industry leaders from the public and private sectors, including training, academia and government, have developed broad-based, foundational exams that validate an individual's IT skill-set. This group of experts provides the resources and subject matter expertise necessary to build a vendor-neutral industry-defined exam, MAIT said in a statement.

To date, over a million CompTIA certifications have been earned in over 165 countries across the globe. In addition, the MAIT-CompTIA alliance will also facilitate the exchange of publications and information on a regular basis. This will include reports on research, product and technology trends within the IT industry.

The alliance will also disseminate information about offers and requests for joint ventures, licensing and identification of partners, and about professional experiences and best practices.
