BANGALORE: Mainstay Teleservices Pvt Ltd, a third party BPO service provider, is planning to double its workforce in Bangalore from 300 to 600 people within the next three months. For want of quality manpower, the company is also mulling a 50-seat center in Chennai on a pilot basis and increase the number of seats subsequently. Mangalore and Mysore are also on the cards for Mainstay's operations outside Bangalore.

"Poaching is prevalent in this industry. There are no hard and fast rules about recruitment. If the candidate is good and has a little bit of experience, he/she becomes best suited. If large MNC companies also opening their captive centers in the country, brand attraction adds to the attrition woes to third party centers like us. We become the training ground for these companies for quality people," said, Colonel JAS Diaz, CEO and Executive Director, Mainstay Teleservices.

The four-year-old fully owned subsidiary of UK's business conglomerates, Tecapet and Comcraft Groups, Mainstay currently has about 150 operational seats in Bangalore and plans to double it by November this year. The company has so far, invested about Rs 8 crore and has earmarked an additional Rs 10 crore for its expansion during the next 24 months.

In order to move up the value chain in service offering, the company is planning to add non-voice services in the areas of accounting, medical and legal. Currently offering BPO services for technical support and financial sector, it has six clients for technical support and two for financial services.

Mainstay generated revenue of Rs 12 crore last year and expects to touch Rs 20 crore next year.
