The revenues of Cyntec, another Taiwan-based maker of inductors, are expected to reach NT$500 million in January 2010, according to industry watchers.

Sources in the industry say that the supply of power chokes has tightened on strong demand from the notebook market and the handset market. This has pushed up the revenues of both Mag.Layers Scientific-Technics and Cyntec.

Also, the order visibility of both Mag.Layers Scientific-Technics and Cyntec has extended to the first half of 2010.

Mag.Layers Scientific-Technics bought a structure, costing spent NT$161 million, with a floor space of 216,000 square feet, in Pingchen, Taiwan, for a new plant. In a statement, Mag.Layers Scientific-Technics said it plans to start installing equipment installation in the second half of 2010 for making RF products.
