Macronix revenues hit a new high

TAIPEI: Macronix International Company (MXIC) saw its revenues increase to its highest total in 2010 at 6.5 p.c sequentially to NT$2.45 billion (US$75 million) in May. The figure is a 34 p.c growth from the same period in 2009.

According to MXIC, sales of their NOR flash business were NT$1.69 billion in May, compared to NT$1.61 billion in the previous month and NT$966 million in May 2009.

Macronix was quoted in previous reports as saying revenues generated from its NOR flash products surpassed those from ROM for the first time in 2009. According to their most recent quarterly report, sales of its NOR flash business soared 108 per cent this year and accounted for 63 p.c of its total revenues in the first quarter of 2010.

Macronix is scheduled to hold a shareholder meeting on June 9. Company chairman and CEO Miin Wu is expected to share his outlook for the NOR flash market and on Macronix's business operation in the latter half of 2010.
