The new version of the KEMP product has an industry leading ultra-low power consumption of 0.2 Amps - significantly increasing the efficiency for all users' data centers while maintaining a cost effective price point.

KEMP responded to the need from its small to medium sized business (SMB) data center and hosting customers to significantly lower the power consumption, to in-turn decrease the cost of operations. Seizing on this opportunity, KEMP now successfully meets this need while ensuring that performance is never forfeited. The VIA Eden processor enables the LoadMaster 1500 appliance to be completely convection cooled, which helps in drastically improving the users overall efficiency.

"KEMP Technologies' high performance load balancer is an excellent example of an innovative appliance that benefits from the x86 performance and low power draw of our VIA processor family," said Epan Wu, deputy director of CPU product marketing at VIA Technologies, Inc. "We look forward to continuing our successful relationship with KEMP, and helping them generate additional high-quality components to its line of load balancers."

"The VIA Eden processor enables KEMP to offer world class features within a low thermal envelope while maintaining the affordable price our customers have come to expect from us," said Kevin Mahon, CEO and president of KEMP Technologies. "The SMB customers can now have an energy efficient, green product for their data centers. The LoadMaster 1500 is currently the only load balancer in the world designed for ultra-low power consumption."

In addition to the low power, KEMP also made its LoadMaster 1500 environmentally friendly. The appliance is fully RoHS compliant or "green" under the 2002/95/EU directive.
