NEW YORK, USA: LimeExchange, the first socially networked online marketplace for outsourced talent reports a positive market response to their newly launched Pilot/Proof of Concept (POC) feature. Over 50 percent of the registered buyers and service providers around the world associated with LimeExchange are reaping benefits of the POC feature, which is a tool buyers can use to gauge the skill level of service providers.

The Pilot/POC project feature enables buyers to review potential vendors by receiving a sample of the project requirement delivered as an assignment. This provides a way of gaining a deeper understanding of a provider’s capabilities and skills prior to signing them on for bigger projects. After short listing their providers, buyers use the Pilot/POC project feature to evaluate the work of service providers at a nominal fee by paying as little as $10 up to $100. Providers and freelancers, on the other hand, get a level playing field to compete on while generating revenue for their pre-sales effort.

My Creative Assistant, a division of Visual Persuasions Canada, is one company that has taken advantage of the Pilot/POC Project feature for their information management project. Pam Ivey, Principal of My Creative Assistant, says, “We used LimeExchange's Pilot/POC project feature for our ‘Moodle Server’ project with great results. We trialed several vendors and, based on the quality of work, we selected a partner who demonstrated the ability to get the job done quickly and effectively. The Pilot/POC project feature exceeded our expectations, enabling us to secure quality vendors for our company. We feel that LimeExchange is a definite help for small and medium businesses such as ours, providing quality outsourced partners from around the world at competitive rates, with almost real time quality assessment and allowing us to establish long term relationships,” adds Ivey.

“Traditionally business has been outsourced only after an SMB or an entrepreneur can gauge quality workmanship of a vendor and negotiate the price of service. At LimeExchange we have brought that experience online,” says Pawan Agarwal, Head Operations Lime Labs, India. “The Pilot/POC project feature enhances outsourcing by allowing buyers to comfortably engage their top short listed vendors and review their work before committing them to a larger project. At the same time, independent providers who face a difficult time culling small project interest from large corporations get a competitive chance through a small “pre-contract” demonstration of their ability. It’s a win-win situation, where both parties minimize their risks up front,” adds Agarwal.
