LifeKen deploys Oracle Retail Applications

BANGALORE: Lifetime Healthcare Pvt Ltd, promoter of LifeKen, Organized Pharma Retail, today announced that it has chosen Oracle Retail applications to centralize and integrate their retail operations.

This solution will be implemented by Oracle Advance Certified Partner, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and is expected to go live in March 2007, Lifeken said in a statement.

“We were clear about what we wanted in terms of technology for our business and we found that Oracle’s retail applications were best suited”, said MC Kini, CEO, promoter and director of LifeKen.

“We understand the competitive edge that technology can give us, in a business where ‘the ability to scale fast’ is the name of the game and best practices need to be incorporated,” he added.

Adoption of Oracle’s retail applications would give LifeKen a solution that will allow faster roll-out of stores, greater control over business processes and a dynamic view of the business in real-time. The technology gives LifeKen the flexibility to expand with the support of a world-class technology platform for the company’s massive scale-up plan. LifeKen had recently announced plans of expanding to 700 stores in the next 3 years.

Speaking on Oracle’s key retail implementation in India, Mukesh Mathur, director and business head for Oracle Retail in India, said, ”They chose to make a significant investment in Oracle Retail at a very early stage in the life of their business. Our experience with LifeKen in India has added to our rich retail industry knowledge acquired globally.”

Oracle Retail applications help achieve a streamlined and consolidated operational and financial infrastructure, so that LifeKen’s resources can be better utilized.

The Oracle Retail modules that LifeKen is implementing include Oracle Retail Merchandising System, Point-of-Service, Store Inventory Management, Sales Audit, Invoice Matching, Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence.
