LIC selects Comat as its official Corporate partner

BANGALORE, INDIA: Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), has announced its association with Comat Technologies (P) Ltd , by appointing them as their “Corporate Partner” to offer insurance services in the rural market. COMAT’s infrastructure, understanding and experience of the rural market have made them a preferred choice for LIC.

The programme is scheduled to start in Karnataka and Haryana with immediate effect and will later be extended to the states of Sikkim, Tripura and gradually to the rest of India.

Traditionally, individual agents were appointed to create awareness of LIC’s services in the rural market. In an effort to provide more services in the rural market, LIC’s choose COMAT’s Rural Business Centres, which is equipped with professional and trained employees to reach out to rural citizens in more efficient and effective manner. 

The objective of the collaboration is to make information on products and services easily available, create high accessibility for trouble-free premium payments and enable smooth settlement of claims in the rural sector.

According to Sriram Raghavan, President, COMAT Technologies, “We feel honoured to have been selected and associated with LIC a legend that has been servicing India for decades” he adds, “We see that rural per capita income growing at an exponential rate, which has in turn increased the demand for professional and specialized services, posing new opportunities to facilitate tax savings, deferred benefits etc. in the rural market.  ” 

“LIC already established in the urban and rural markets of India, recognizes high market potential for rural India and is geared to offer enhanced customers services through its organized rural channel - COMAT Technologies. COMAT is already an existing partner and is currently working with us to digitize LIC policies. This scheme will also facilitate other services like cash premium deposits and online generation of LIC receipts through COMAT’s Rural Business Centers.” said T. S. Vijayan, Chairman, LIC.
