As the notebook market is making strong inroads across the country, the company has ramped up its presence outside the metros, to provide customers easy access to IBM service and support. IBM will continue to provide its service and support to the ThinkPad and ThinkCentre products within the Lenovo-IBM alliance framework.

According to the press release, as part of this initiative, five new full-fledged ThinkPad Service Centers have been opened, equipped with all the necessary infrastructure and manned by IBM trained engineers.

Additionally, 10 DropOff-Pickup Centers have been established where customers can drop off their ThinkPad notebooks that need servicing and pick them up from the same locations.

Customers can also call the IBM SmartCentre at 1 600 44 6666 and will be directed to one of these centers if a hardware fix is required. For customers buying projectors from Lenovo, the company has introduced the Rapid Replacement Service scheme.
