Lava ties up with MTV, launches A16 phone

NEW DELHI, INDIA: Lava Mobile today entered into partnership with MTV and launched Lava A16 MTV phone. The new device features specially-animated themes, 3.2 megapixel camera and 2.6 inch high resolution screen.

SN Rai, director, Lava International, said that A16 is the first mobile phone that has been designed and developed in the country. “We felt that there was a definite gap in the market for mobile phones and that prompted to launch Lava A16 that combines elegance and technology,” he said.

The new device has stylish back cover with soft contours and an animated graphical user interface with multiple wallpapers and themes. The new Lava phone is Facebook ready, and is targeted at youth market.

Jaideep Singh, VP–Viacom Brand Solutions at Viacom 18 Media, said that A16 is a powerful device meant for engaging people. “We are heavily investing on music for the last one year and are optimistic that of launching more products from Lava,” Singh said.

Some of its additional features include auto call recording and privacy protection. The new Lava A16 is priced at Rs 4,500. The company is eying at Rs 1,000 crore revenue during the FY 2011-12.
