CALIFORNIA, USA: Passive component manufacturing equipment maker LaserTek says that the company expects its shipments of equipment to peak during the June-September period.
These include SMD packaging and LED equipment, and sources say that this growth will help push revenue growth in the third quarter.
The sources reaffirm that the expansion projects that are ongoing at Taiwan-based passive component makers are helping to keep the demand high. According to the sources, demand for packaging materials is expected to grow 30 per cent sequentially in the third quarter.
It is anticipated that the the third-quarter revenues will be higher than those recorded in the second quarter - NT$671 million (US$20.9 million); whereas the fourth quarter performance is likely to stay flat at the second-quarter's level.
Figures from unaudited company data say that Laser Tek posted net profits of NT$191 million for the first half of 2010, translating into an EPS of NT$2.80.
