Lantiq, ZyXEL enable VoLTE on multi-service gateway

BANGALORE, INDIA: Lantiq and ZyXEL Communications announced that ZyXEL's LTE5121LTE solutions multi-service gateway now supports Voice over LTE (VoLTE).

Having VoLTE on a fixed LTE gateway platform allows communications carriers to deliver wireless broadband triple-play services to subscribers, says a release.

Wayne Hwang, assistant vice president, Wireless Strategy Business Unit, ZyXEL:"By incorporating the Lantiq network processor, the ZyXEL LTE5121 gateway is able to provide the processing headroom to support multiple advanced communications capabilities. This allows us to respond to market evolution quickly and deliver platforms that allow our customers to provide rich media and other premium services to their subscribers."

Lantiq's XWAY GRX288Broadband network processor that powers the LTE5121 gateway manages VoLTE software stack, which provides native voice and other rich media services. Lantiq also provides the required voice-line service chip (XWAY SLIC110) needed to use standard phone terminals in a home or small business, adds the release.
