Kyocera to expand in Bangalore

BANGALORE, INDIA: Kyocera Wireless India (KWI) today announced that it would ramp up its operation in Bangalore to support its technology portfolio, product complexity and new requirements in the wireless space.

The Bangalore-based engineering development facility of Kyocera Wireless Corp. also stated that it would add 300 more professionals by the end of this year.

“India possesses great technical competence and a tremendous talent pool to help power our global vision. We will leverage this potential and continue to deliver pioneering solutions in emerging communication technologies,” said Rodney N. Lanthorne, Kyocera Wireless Corp.’s president and chairman of the Board.

KWI engineered a complete phone from India within 30 months of its inception.

The Bangalore center plays a key role for the company in the development of technologies including near-field communications (NFC), biometric-sensor integrated solutions for m-commerce, dual-mode handsets and a commercial wireless broadband network system beyond 3G.
