This certification, as shared, recognizes the best practices implemented by KPIT in Software Asset Management (SAM) through the entire life cycle from procurement, inventory management, deployment, license compliance and usage monitoring.

It adds that Verafirm-Certified is a universally applicable benchmark for organizations to follow when developing and implementing a SAM program. This is the first and only enterprise-level SAM certification, aligned to ISO SAM standards. The certification status will enable KPIT to: more closely align its software assets with its operational needs; maintain and easily demonstrate license compliance and accrue software cost efficiencies and improved business performance.

"SAM is among the most significant IT investments that companies make in today's economic reality. By achieving globally recognized Verafirm-Certified, KPIT has shown the way in adopting the industry best practices for effective management, control and protection of software assets. We believe that this is a milestone in the adoption of SAM in the Indian IT industry and will pave way for other industry players to recognize the benefits of SAM", said Vipin Aggarwal, India Chair, BSA | The Software Alliance.

Commenting on this achievement Mandar Marulkar, Vice President, IT and CISO, KPIT, said "We are proud to achieve Verafirm-Certified. This recognizes our efforts toward effective implementation of ISO SAM aligned processes, stringent license compliance and our commitment toward upholding high ethical standards. Our mature governance practices and increased deployment productivity enables us to provide timely and high quality deliveries to our customers."
