Kochi Corporation launches website to support Kochi Metro

KOCHI, INDIA: Kochiites have to wait for some more time to see the metro rail in their city. The Government of Kerala is keen on completing the Metro Rail project in a time bound manner but the work on Kochi Metro will commence only after Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) approves the project, as per a report published in New Indian Express. Kerala's CM, Oomen Chandy said, "If possible, I shall try to meet Sheila Dikshit also."

Inorder to gain public support for the implementation of the Kochi Metro Rail project with the DMRC, the Kochi Corporation has launched a website- www.supportkochimetro.in. The website was launched as part of the Corporation's ‘Support DMRC and Kochi Metro' campaign.

Mayor Tony Chammany hopes that the website will help the civic body to gain support from Keralites settled across the world. "The public, especially Kochiites, want the DMRC to undertake the project for its timely completion. We believe that the website will act as a platform for them to share their views and support," said Chammany.
